Ubuntu's sh Doesn't Support the "function" Keyword

I just found out today, while trying to execute some of my shell scripts that the sh implementation distributed with Ubuntu does not support the optional "function" keyword. Anyone seen this problem before?

One work-around for this problem is to use the bash shell environment on Ubuntu. It supports the "function" keyword. In addition, it also supports array, like ksh. bash is like sh and ksh combined.
