Change Permissions on Directories Only (GPL)

Sometimes you want to change the permissions only on directories, without touching files, but the easiest way to change permissions is to use a wild card like "*". The attached "ChmodDir.sh" lets you do that easily and quickly. Arguments to the shell script is simple and straight-forward without confusing options.

"ChmodDir.sh" is distributed as executable source code under the GNU General Public License. Please see the license agreement elsewhere on this site.

Usage

  ChmodDir.sh <mode> "path spec 1" [ . . . "path spec 2" ]

Examples

  : ChmodDir.sh 755 *

  : ChmodDir.sh 600 *
