Edit Text.mscr (GPL)

Modifying text files, such as web pages (.html), hasn't really been possible on Windows Mobile devices. Word Mobile doesn't recognize the .html files as text. And you can't really associate .html as text files with "Text File Association.mscr" (posted on this site), because you still want Internet Explorer to recognize it as a web page.

Now, with this "Edit Text.mscr" script, you can load text files of any extension into Word Mobile for editing. It remembers the last directory where it loaded the file, so that you can easily load a set of text files, one after another. It's excellent for source code development on your Windows Mobile device.

"Edit Text.mscr" requires the free MortScript interpreter to execute. So in order to use this script, you'll have to download and install MortScript on your Windows Mobile device, if you haven't already done so.

"Edit Text.mscr" is distributed as executable source code under the GNU General Public License. Please see the license agreement elsewhere on this site.

PocketPC 2002 and 2003 runs MortScript just fine. However, they don't have a "/Application Data" directory like Windows Mobile 5 and 6, thus, causing the configuration saving to silently fail. This new and improved version of "Edit Text.mscr", attached below, works around this problem on Pocket PC 2002 and 2003 by creating the "/Application Data" directory if it is missing.

Brilliant, I did not know Mortscript had that open dialog option. Very useful! Thanks!
