International Pricing Auto Fill in Android MarketNew in Android Market today is the roll-out of the international pricing. Now, you submit the app to Android Market. If the app is not free, you have to specify foreign prices for selective countries (see screen shot below). For example, with Netherlands, you have to specify the EUR for your app. In the past, you set the price for your native country. Then Google uses the exchange rate at the time of purchase to set the price for international sales. Currently, Google provides an "Auto Fill" button to help you fill out all these prices, which "automatically populates the fields with one-time conversion to local currencies from the default price with the current exchange rate." This means that depending on how the exchange rate fluctuates, the merchant may want to change the foreign app price over time. It provides more flexibility to the merchant, but at the same time, this method is much more labor intensive. The older system may be more fair to the consumer and the merchant. What do you think?
