Plumie Exploration Ship
The Plumie ship is an exploring ship--a survey ship. It has mapping equipment on board. In space, the Plumie ship can accelerate to several miles per second after ten seconds. After half a minute it can reach tens of miles per second. When scanned, the Plumie ship returns four different frequencies with a relative-intensity pattern which said that they are reflected by bronze--silicon bronze. The polarized beams would come back depolarized, but with phase-changes which said the reflector had a rounded, regular form. It would be a smooth hull of silicon bronze out yonder. The Plumie ship is unarmed; it has no rocket tubes. It has no beam-projectors except for small-sized objects which were--which must be--their projectors of tractor and pressor beams. The Plumie ship don't use a magnetronic drive. The principle of the Plumie ship drive system is very old compared to the human drive system. It's a Dirac pusher-drive. In the human technological advancement timeline, it came right after rockets. The Dirac pusher drive won't operate in a magnetic field above seventy Gauss. It's based on a static-charge reaction, and in a magnetic field it simply stops working. |
